Since 2010, Jeremy P. Ämick has been sharing the stories of service and sacrifice of our nation's veterans. His work has been featured in several newspapers, in national magazines and on the website War History Online. He is the author of four military historical books: Jefferson City at War: 1916-1975; Cole County, Missouri at War: 1861-1975; the World War I novel Soldierly Devotion; and, The Lucky Ones: Legacy of a WWII Tank Destoyer. Ämick has recently completed a book about Bryce Lockwood of Strafford, Missouri, who was the only U.S. Marine to survive the Israeli attack on the USS Liberty in 1967. Additionally, he is currently working on the biography of the late Roger Buchta, a Russellville area native who served as a medic in the Vietnam War. He makes his home in Russellville, Missouri with his wife, Tina and their Cairn Terrier, Sherman. In his spare time, he enjoys reading about the Cold War, collecting comic books and listening to vintage music on vinyl.
